13.2. Replacement of bearings of forward naves

2-row roller stupichny bearings have a tight design. Adjustment of a pretightness and stuffing of bearings lubricant is made at manufacturer. Bearings are calculated on all service life of the car and additional service do not need. Try not to allow pullings of nuts of fastening of power shafts above admissible value.


Implementation of the procedure will require a suitable press, or the workbench equipped with a big vice. Prepare also suitable mandrels (face heads of the corresponding size will approach). Internal holders of bearings are put in a nave внатяг and sometimes are removed together with a nave. In such cases for their extraction it is necessary to use a special stripper of lezviyny type.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove stupichny assembly (see Removal and installation of stupichny assembly of a forward suspension bracket).
2. Strongly lay stupichny assembly on pair of wooden blocks, or clamp it in a vice with soft sponges. Rest the mandrel suitable by the size against an internal end face of a flange of stupichny assembly, pull together a flange from the bearing. If an external part of an internal holder of the bearing remains in a nave, use for its extraction a stripper (see the prevention at the beginning of the section).

3. Remove a lock ring of the bearing from an external end face of stupichny assembly.

4. In case of need put an internal holder of the bearing back on a separator and strongly prop up inside of stupichny assembly. By means of the mandrel suitable by the size to a vypressuyta the bearing from a nave (the mandrel has to rest only against an end face of an internal holder of the bearing).
5. Carefully wipe stupichny assembly, a zapoliruyta of the tease and the protruding edges capable to interfere with installation of components. Check assembly for existence of cracks and other mechanical damages, in case of need replace defective components.

The lock ring of the bearing is subject to replacement without fail, regardless of its state.

6. Slightly oil an external holder of the bearing and an axis of a flange of a nave.
7. Reliably prop up stupichny assembly and put in it the bearing. Track perpendicularity of landing of the bearing. The mandrel has to rest only against a face surface of an external holder.
8. Having put the bearing, fix it a new lock ring, having tracked correctness of landing of the last in the flute in stupichny assembly.
9. Prop up the outer side of stupichny assembly and with put an internal holder of the bearing on a nave flange pin. Press the bearing against the stop in the bearing coat hanger by means of the mandrel resting against an end face of an internal holder. Check freedom of rotation of a flange of a nave, remove excess of lubricant.
10. Establish into place stupichny assembly (see Removal and installation of stupichny assembly of a forward suspension bracket).
