4.3.19. Initial start of the engine after completion of its capital repairs
Having installed the engine on the car, check levels of motive oil and cooling liquid. Once again make sure of correctness of connection of all hoses, wires and other lines of communication. Remove all tools, rags and other foreign objects from a motive compartment.
Petrol models
1. Remove spark plugs and disconnect an electrical wiring from ECU system of injection of fuel (see the Power supply system - petrol models). 2. Turn the engine a starter until the control lamp of pressure of oil in an instrument guard goes out. Establish to the place of a candle and connect conducting to ECU system of injection. |
Diesel models
1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the locking electromagnetic valve on TNVD (see the Power supply system - diesel models) and begin to turn the engine a starter, without leaving time for warming up of candles of an incandescence. Wait for shutdown of a control lamp of pressure of oil, then connect an electrical wiring to the locking valve. 2. Fill a power supply system (see the Power supply system - diesel models). 3. Completely squeeze out the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition key in situation "M" and wait for shutdown of a control lamp of preheat. |

All models
1. Start the engine in the usual way (start can take away slightly more time, than usually as there has to be a filling of a path of a power supply system). 2. Having left the engine working at single turns, check it for existence of signs of leak of cooling liquid, oil and fuel. It is not necessary to panic at emergence of a smell of burning and emergence of smoke - it occurs burning out of the lubricants used at assembly. 3. If everything is all right, wait for warming up of the top hose of a radiator, then kill the engine. 4. Check installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition (petrol models) / correctness of phases of gas distribution (diesel models) and idling turns, then kill the engine. 5. Let's the engine cool down within several minutes, then make checks of levels of oil and cooling liquid (address the Head Routine maintenance). In case of need make the corresponding adjustments. 6. If tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders was made according to the instructions provided in appropriate section, need for pulling of fixture is absent. 7. If replacement of pistons, piston rings or bearings of a bent shaft was made, it is necessary to make an engine running in as though about was new. I.e. throughout the first 800 km (500 miles) of a run it is necessary to avoid full opening of a butterfly valve, to try not to move a setup and with small turns of the engine. It is recommended to replace also upon termination of a running in motive oil and an oil filter. |
