4.3.10. Removal of a bent shaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a cogwheel of a bent shaft and the oil pump (see. The repair procedures which are not demanding extraction of the engine from the car - the petrol engines or Repair procedures which are not demanding extraction of the engine from the car - diesel engines).
2. Take conrod and piston assemblies (see Removal of conrod and piston assemblies). If pistons and rods do not need service, will enough otboltit covers of conrod bearings and to push assemblies up, having removed them from necks of a bent shaft.
3. Measure the size of an axial side play of a bent shaft (see Check of a condition of a bent shaft). Also you pass to implementation of the procedures stated in the following paragraphs.

4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the holder of an epiploon with forward (from a gas-distributing belt) an end face of the block of cylinders. At the corresponding complete set, remove also sealing laying of the holder.

5. Remove a chain of the drive of the oil pump, then remove from a pin of a bent shaft the leading asterisk of the pump with the remote plug (at the corresponding complete set).

6. Take from the groove in a shaft pin a segment spline. Remove a spline together with the removed cogwheel to the reliable place.

7. Covers of radical bearings have to be marked by figures with 1 on 5, in the direction from a flywheel / a driving disk. If factory marking on covers is absent, put tags independently by means of the hammer and a center punch. Measure and write down the adjusting depth of a back epiploon of a bent shaft in a cover of the radical bearing.

8. On models 1580 and 1761 of cm 3 give two bolts of fastening to the block of a cover of the central radical bearing (one from the forward party of the block, the second - with back). Take boats and remove them together with sealing washers.

9. On all models weaken fixing bolts / nuts and uncover radical bearings. Take the lower inserts of bearings and attach them to the covers an adhesive tape. Remove also persistent washers from cheeks of a cover of the second bearing. Remove rubber sealing strips from walls of a cover of the first bearing (a sealant are subject to replacement without fail).

10. Carefully, take a bent shaft from the block. Track that the lower inserts of radical bearings remained in the beds in the block. Remove and will throw out an old back epiploon of a shaft.

11. Take the top inserts from beds in the block of cylinders, marking them by means of an adhesive tape on compliance to number of the bearing. Remove the top half of persistent washers of the second bearing and put them to the reliable place together with the lower washers.
