General information

The parking brake by means of the hummock drive through a pusher mechanically influences pistons of supports of brake mechanisms of forward wheels (see the illustration Cross-section of a Support of the Brake Mechanism of a Forward Wheel). The adjusting mechanism provides automatic compensation of wear of brake shoes, forcing them to be constantly on the minimum approach to a disk. At the same time the skhvatyvaniye of brakes occurs already at the first moment of squeezing of a pedal. Operation of the regulator occur automatically when squeezing a pedal of a foot brake. Dismantling of a support for the purpose of recovery repair of the automatic regulator is not represented possible.

Adjustment of the automatic compensator of wear of brake shoes

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. After work on removal/installation or service of brake mechanisms of forward wheels it is necessary to make initial activation of the mechanism of the automatic regulator.
2. Start the engine and leave it working at single turns.
3. Make sure that the control lever of the parking brake is completely released.
4. Several times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake for the purpose of activation of the regulator.
5. Release a foot brake and make sure of serviceability functioning of the drive of the parking brake which full raising has to be reached already on the first - the second click of the ratchet mechanism of a control lever. Kill the engine. In case of need make adjustment of driving cables of the parking brake (see below).

Adjustment of the hummock drive of the parking brake

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Completely release the parking brake.
2. Having squeezed out a pedal of a foot brake, achieve pressing of blocks to a brake disk, then release a pedal.

3. Release a lock-nut of fastening of a driving cable on one of forward brake mechanisms. Now, rotation of an adjusting/fixing nut achieve the required balance of length of cables on the equalizer (within 1.5 mm).



4. In case of need repeat the procedure on the brake mechanism of an opposite wheel.
5. At the released parking brake executive levers on supports brake mechanisms should not be delayed by cables at any provisions of a steering wheel and any adjusting height of a suspension bracket. Check, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment.
6. Tighten lock-nuts.
7. Several times cock a control lever of the parking brake for the purpose of check of serviceability of functioning of the drive. The full skhvatyvaniye has to occur already on the first - the second click of the ratchet mechanism of the lever.
