12.5. Check of a state, removal and installation of brake disks

Attentively read the preventions given at the beginning of the sections Replacement of Blocks of Disk Brake Mechanisms of Forward Wheels and Replacement of Blocks of Disk Brake Mechanisms of Back Wheels. Replacement of disks is always made in couple for both brake mechanisms of this axis in order to avoid loss of course stability of the car when braking.

Disks of forward brake mechanisms

Check of a state

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Prop up antiretractable boots back wheels, a front of the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. Slowly rotating a disk, attentively examine it on both sides. In case of need remove brake shoes for the purpose of providing the best review of inside of a disk (see Replacement of blocks of disk brake mechanisms of forward wheels). Existence of small scratches on workers the surfaces of a disk contacting to blocks is quite admissible, however, in case of identification of deep furrows, zadir and other serious defects the disk is subject to replacement.

3. On the outer edge of surfaces of a disk usually there passes beaten by corrosion the strip covered with brake dust which can be in case of need smoothed out by means of a scraper. If on perimeter of a disk the fillet formed as a result of production of material settles down it is necessary to perform measurement of thickness of a disk by means of a micrometer. The measurement is taken in several points on perimeter of a disk both in area of contact with blocks, and out of it. The disk which is worn out over an admissible limit (see Specifications) is subject to replacement.

4. In the presence of suspicions on existence of deformation it is necessary to make check of a side beating of a disk. Use the dial measuring instrument of plunger type which should be fixed on a motionless component of a suspension bracket, or by means of the probe of lezviyny type measure gap size between a disk and the motionless object located to it closely (for example, an anchor bracket of a support). The measurement is taken in several points on disk perimeter. In case of identification of the beating exceeding admissible value (see Specifications), the disk is subject to replacement (previously make sure that wear or weakening of a pretightness of stupichny bearings [see the Head Routine maintenance or the Running gear and steering]) is not the reason of a beating. Try to remove also a disk and to turn it on a nave on 180 °.

5. Examine a disk on existence of cracks around bolted openings and other signs of wear or mechanical damages. In case of need make replacement.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Remove brake shoes (see Replacement of blocks of disk brake mechanisms of forward wheels).
3. Turn out two bolts of fastening of an anchor bracket of a support on stupichny assembly. Remove a support aside and tie up it a wire to a suspension bracket element. Track that the brake hose was not tense.

4. Turn out two fixing screws and remove a disk from stupichny assembly.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure of absoluteness of purity of the interfaced surfaces of a brake disk and stupichny assembly, then establish a disk on the regular place. Also tighten fixing screws.
2. Establish into place a support and tighten bolts of its fastening with the required effort.
3. Establish brake shoes (see Replacement of blocks of disk brake mechanisms of forward wheels) and connect a negative wire to the battery.

Disks of back brake mechanisms

Check of a state

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Cock the parking brake, prop up antiretractable boots forward wheels, then a back of the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props.
2. Perform the procedures described in the subsection "Check of a State", addressing in case of need materials of the section Replacement of Blocks of Disk Brake Mechanisms of Back Wheels.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.
2. Remove the corresponding back wheel.
3. Dump pressure in a hydraulic path of a suspension bracket, having released spuskny the regulator gate (see the Head Uniform hydraulic system) and having transferred a control lever to situation "Minimum".
4. Remove brake shoes (see Replacement of blocks of disk brake mechanisms of back wheels).
5. Fill a finger of fastening of blocks on the regular place and screw on it a nut, having fastened with that among themselves two half of a support.
6. Turn out two bolts of fastening of a brake support to the longitudinal lever of a suspension bracket.
7. Remove a support from a brake disk and tie up it aside to a suspension bracket element by means of a wire. Track that the brake line was not tense.

At desire the support can be fixed by means of the top bolt after removal of a disk.

8. Turn out the fixing screw and remove a disk from a wheel nave.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Where it is required, turn out the top bolt and shift a support aside, having provided free space for installation of a disk.
2. Make sure of absoluteness of purity of the interfaced surfaces of a disk and a nave. Establish a disk on the regular place and tighten the fixing screw.
3. Grease a carving part of fixing bolts, then establish a support into place and tighten bolts with the required effort.
4. Give a fixing nut and take the finger of fastening of blocks fixing among themselves half of a support.
5. Establish to the place of a block (see Replacement of blocks of disk brake mechanisms of back wheels).
6. Establish a wheel.
7. Tighten spuskny pressure regulator gate (see the Head Uniform hydraulic system) and transfer a control lever a suspension bracket to situation "Normal driving" (The normal movement).
8. Lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel bolts with the required effort.
