1. If at inclusion of ignition on an instrument guard of the car the control lamp of a charge does not light up, first of all it is necessary to check reliability of fastening of plugs of an electrical wiring of the generator. If conducting as it should be, check whether filament in a lamp, and also reliability of fixing in the dashboard of her boss fused. If after the made corrections the lamp still does not join, check the wire of its food going to the boss from the generator for conductivity existence. If a wire as it should be, therefore, internal malfunction of the generator takes place and intervention of the expert is required. 2. If the control lamp of a charge continues to burn after start, or joins at the working engine, muffle it and check correctness of adjustment of a tension of a driving belt (address the Head Routine maintenance). Make sure also that generator fixture did not weaken. If everything is all right, the generator it is necessary to deliver for check and repair in a specialized workshop. 3. If there are suspicions on an aberration of output tension of the generator, despite serviceability of functioning of a control lamp, it is necessary to make high-quality check of a condition of the regulator of tension (see further). In the presence of near at hand necessary diagnostic equipment, it is possible to make check of the generator without extraction it from the car (see below in separate subsection). 4. Connect the voltmeter to plugs of the battery and start the engine. 5. Lifting engine turns, achieve stabilization of indications of the voltmeter.

6. Include as much as possible consumers of the electric power (head headlights, heating of back glass, the heater fan, etc.) and make sure that output tension continues to remain at the previous level (13 ÷ 14 V). 7. Power failure at inclusion of consumers can be connected with wear of brushes of the generator, weakening of their springs, failure of the regulator of tension, malfunction of the diode, damage of a phase winding, or wear of the sliding rings. The generator has to be replaced, or is delivered for repair in a specialized workshop.
