5.1. Detachment and replacement of hoses of the cooling system

Do not disconnect any hoses of a cooling path before full cooling of the engine - see Cooling systems, heating, the subsection "Precautionary measures".

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If during performance of the checks listed in appropriate section of the Head Routine maintenance defects of hoses of the cooling system are revealed, they have to be replaced.
2. Empty the cooling system (address the Head Routine maintenance). If the cooling liquid filled in system is rather fresh, it is subject to reuse and has to be merged in a pure container.
3. The order of a detachment of hoses depends on type of hose connection (see below).

Hoses with nipple sockets of usual type

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On unions and branch pipes of usual type hoses fasten by means of collars. At the same time both standard collars with the worm drive, and disposable collars of the twisted type can be used. The last at connection of a hose are subject to replacement by more practical standard.

2. By means of the screw-driver weaken a collar and shift it along a hose up, having completely released the union / a reception branch pipe. Accurately remove a hose from the union. New hoses usually are removed without special problems while old can be "stuck".

3. The hose which is not giving in to office should try to be released, having rotated it on the union, then it is possible to hook accurately a hose cut a blunt tool, without making at the same time excessive effort, - you remember that inlet and final branch pipes of a radiator are rather fragile elements. As a last resort, strongly "stuck" hose can be cut off from the union by a knife: despite connected about in such a way certain material inputs, nevertheless will be to replace a hose cheaper, than to get a new radiator.
4. At installation of a new hose at first put on it fixing collars, only after it pull a hose on unions/branch pipes of the corresponding components of a cooling path. If initially for fastening of hoses collars of the twisted type were used, they should be cut off and at installation to replace more reliable screw or worm. For simplification of landing of rigid hoses to unions it is necessary to moisten slightly the ends of the last with soap water, or to warm up the ends of a hose in warm water - do not use any oils as lubricant.
5. Pull a hose the ends on unions and check correctness of its laying in a motive compartment. Place collars on the sites of a hose put on unions, having brought them for face flaring. Strongly tighten collars.
6. Fill the cooling system (address the Head Routine maintenance).
7. Start the engine, then attentively check system for existence of signs of leak of cooling liquid.

The hoses brought to the heater heat exchanger

New sealing rings will be required.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Both hoses of a heater are connected to the heat exchanger of the last by means of one socket. For ensuring access to the socket on some models can it is required to uncover the camshaft (see the Head Remont of the engine).

2. At the corresponding complete set remove a metal clip from the top party of the socket.

3. Release a plastic clamp, having wrung out it to the left part of the socket.

4. Separate the socket from the heater heat exchanger. Remove sealing rings, - at assembly they are subject to replacement without fail.

5. Alternatively, hoses of a heater can be equipped with the socket with a metal spring clamp (it is shown by an arrow)

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace sealing rings.
2. Fill the cooling system (address the Head Routine maintenance).
3. Start the engine, then attentively check system for existence of signs of leak of cooling liquid.
