4.2.2. Fixing cranked/distributive shaft and TNVD for the purpose of prevention of casual hit of valves in contact with pistons in the course of performing procedures of service of the car

Do not make attempts of a provorachivaniye of the engine at blocked cranked/distributive shaft/TNVD. If the engine is left blocked for a long time, it is necessary to establish the warning plates of the corresponding content in salon and a motive compartment of the car. Such precautionary measure will allow to avoid a casual provorachivaniye of the blocked engine a starter that is fraught with serious mechanical damages.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On all models in cogwheels of the camshaft and TNVD, and also the special drillings allowing to make fixing of the engine in the correct phase of gas distribution excluding probability of hit of valves in contact with the bottoms of pistons in installation time of a head of cylinders/belt of the GRM drive are provided in a flywheel. Having achieved combination of these drillings with reciprocal openings in the head/block of cylinders, it is necessary to pass throughout them fingers of suitable diameter.

At combination of blocking openings the piston of the fourth cylinder falls into a state of VMT of the end of a step of compression. The detailed description of the procedure of blocking of the engine is given below.

2. Remove the top covers of a belt of the GRM drive (see Removal and installation of covers of a gas-distributing belt).
3. Turn a bent shaft for a bolt of its pulley so that three drillings in cogwheels of the camshaft and TNVD (one in a wheel of a shaft and two in a pump wheel) were combined with reciprocal openings to a forward plate of the engine. For ensuring access to a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft release two clamps and remove a plastic cover from a cornice of the right forward wheel of the car. Where it is required, release also hoses of a cooling path from clips on an arm. Remember that the bent shaft should be turned always only in the direction clockwise, looking from the right board of the car. When openings are combined, the engine is blocked by threading in them metal cores of the corresponding diameter (see below).

4. Pass a 8-millimeter core / drill through an opening in the left flange of the block near a starter.

5. In case of need slightly correct the provision of a bent shaft, trying to obtain the required combination of openings and free introduction of a core to drilling of a flywheel / a driving disk.

6. Pass three 8-millimeter bolts throughout drillings in cogwheels of the camshaft and TNVD and manually screw them in reciprocal openings in the engine.

7. Now both shaft and TNVD will be blocked in safe provisions.
