1.8. Start of the engine from an auxiliary source

Use of the auxiliary power supply will help to make start of the engine in an extreme situation, however then it is necessary to find out and remove the cause which led to the category of the battery.

It is possible to carry the following to number of the most typical reasons:
1. Replanting of the battery resulted from carrying out unsuccessful attempts of start of the engine, or owing to leaving included lighting fixtures.
2. Serviceability of functioning of system of a charge is broken (the driving belt of the generator weakened or is torn off, the connecting electrical wiring is damaged, or the generator is faulty actually).
3. The battery is faulty actually (electrolyte level fell, or there was accumulator service life).

When performing start of the engine from the external power supply it is necessary to pay attention to observance of some special precautionary measures:
• Before connecting the auxiliary battery, make sure that ignition is switched off.
• Track that all consumers of the electric power (lighting and heating fixtures, screen wipers, etc.) were also switched off.
• Attentively study the warning information on the label of the battery.
• Make sure that the auxiliary battery in the working parameters corresponds established on your car.
• If as the auxiliary power supply the battery installed on other vehicle is used, track that cars did not adjoin with each other AT ALL.
• Make sure that transmission is included on neutral transfer (in case of AT - situation "P").

Scheme of inclusion of auxiliary consumers of the electric power

Inclusion of auxiliary consumers of the electric power is made for the purpose of prevention of power surges at the time of an electrical wiring detachment.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Connect the end of a red wire from a special set to the positive plug of the sat-down battery (see 1 on the illustration Scheme of Inclusion of Auxiliary Consumers of the Electric Power).

2. Connect the second end of a red wire to the positive plug of the auxiliary battery (see 2 on the illustration Scheme of Inclusion of Auxiliary Consumers of the Electric Power).

3. Connect one end of a black wire from a set to the negative plug of the auxiliary battery (see 3 on the illustration Scheme of Inclusion of Auxiliary Consumers of the Electric Power).

4. Connect the second end of a black wire to reliably grounded point on the block of the started engine (a bolt or an arm), whenever possible far away from the battery (see 4 on the illustration Scheme of Inclusion of Auxiliary Consumers of the Electric Power).

5. Make sure that connecting wires do not adjoin to moving components in motive compartments of both cars (a krylchatka of the fan, driving belts, etc.).

6. Perform the standard procedure of start of the engine. Leave the engine working at single turns. Include headlights, a heater of back glass and the fan of a heater, then disconnect wires, working as it should be, the return to an order of their connection (see above). At the end of the procedure switch off excess consumers of the electric power.
