1. Remove a power shaft (see Removal and installation of power shafts).
2. Clamp a shaft in a vice with soft sponges (the external hinge up) and release two bandage tapes of fastening of a protective cover. In case of need tapes can be cut off.
3. Remove a cover from assembly of the external CV JOINT and shift it down a shaft. Remove excess of lubricant.
4. The sharp blows of the hammer struck through a brass drift bring down the external CV JOINT from the end of a shaft. The hinge fastens on a shaft by means of a lock ring which at striking blows on inside of assembly has to will be drowned in the flute.
5. Having removed the hinge, take from a flute on a shaft pin a lock ring (at assembly the ring is subject to replacement without fail).
6. Remove a protective cover of the external CV JOINT from a shaft. Remove also plastic plug installed from the inside of a cover.
7. Carefully wipe the hinge of equal angular speeds removed from a shaft (use kerosene, or other suitable solvent), then dry assembly and make visual check of its state.
8. Move the conducted section equipped with vents internal here and there, serially checking a condition of each of hinge balls at the top of a holder. Pay attention to such defects as cracks and cavities.
9. Check a condition of paths of swing of internal and external sections of the hinge. Emergence of expanded sites leads to violation of density of landing of balls. At the same time estimate degree of wear of a separator, make sure of lack of cracks between its windows.
10. In case of identification of defective or worn-out components all assembly of the hinge is subject to replacement. In certain cases it is necessary to replace all assembly of a power shaft, - consult at car repair shop. If the condition of the hinge is recognized as satisfactory, prepare the repair kit consisting of new lock rings, a protective cover with couple of bandage tapes and a tube with special lubricant.
11. Process of installation of a new protective cover in detail see below in the subsection "Installation of a New Protective Cover". Try to follow strictly provided instructions. Pay attention that the cover not necessarily has to be equipped with a plastic ring, besides, the bandage tapes entering a remnabor can differ from shown in pictures. For fastening of the shown bandage tapes it is necessary to squeeze together the ends of the lock, having completely chosen the weak point taking place, then to accurately bend the acting bokorezama uvula.
12. Check freedom of rotation of the CV JOINT in all directions, then install on the car a power shaft (see Removal and installation of power shafts).

1. Installation on a cover of the external CV JOINT of a ring from solid plastic.

2. Putting on of a protective cover is made after landing to a pin of a shaft of the new plastic plug (it is shown by an arrow).

3. Landing of inside of a cover to the plastic plug.

4. Landing of a new lock ring of fastening of the CV JOINT in the flute on a pin of a power shaft.

5. Landing of the CV JOINT to a shaft pin (make sure of reliability of fixing of assembly by a lock ring).

6. Stuffing of the CV JOINT lubricant from rhemes sets (lubricant is squeezed out in the hinge at simultaneous rotation of the last); having finished, put the outer edge of a protective cover on assembly of the hinge (the sealing fillet of a cover has to get to a flute on a surface of external section of the CV JOINT).

7. Fixing of a protective cover an external bandage tape by means of a hook and flat-nose pliers (track completeness of a vybiraniye of a weak point).

8. Trimming of surplus of the bent end of a bandage tape.

9. The free end of a bandage tape is bent under its lock.

10. Pressing of the lock for fixing in this situation.

11. Tightening of an internal bandage tape of fastening of a protective cover.

1. Remove a power shaft.
2. Remove the external CV JOINT (see the subsection "Cover of the External CV JOINT", subitem 1 — 4).
3. Wind with an adhesive tape of a vent of an external pin of a power shaft and accurately remove a protective cover of the external CV JOINT and the landing plastic plug.

Replacement of covers will be more correct to be made in couple.

4. Release fixing bandages and remove a protective cover of the internal hinge, and also its landing plastic plug from a shaft. After a cover otpuskaniye the external section of the internal CV JOINT can be also removed from a shaft.

5. Carefully wash out assembly of the hinge kerosene or other suitable solvent, then dry. Estimate a condition of components of tripodny assembly and external section of the hinge. Check freedom of rotation of rollers.
6. At identification of signs of wear or mechanical damages of tripodny assembly or external section the hinge is subject to replacement assembled with shaft. If the hinge as it should be, prepare the repair set consisting of a new cover, bandage tapes and a tube with special lubricant. Authors of the present manual recommend to make at the same time replacement of a protective cover of the external hinge, regardless of its state.
7. Fill assembly of the internal CV JOINT lubricant, pushing it in available internal cavities of the turned hinge.
8. Wipe a shaft and clear it of corrosion traces by means of a fine-grained emery paper. Try to zapolirovat any teases and roughnesses capable to lead to failure of a new cover. Put on the new plastic plug and a protective cover of the internal CV JOINT a shaft. Bring the plastic plug to special deepening on a shaft, from above put a cover.
9. Put on external section of the hinge a shaft pin, from above pull a cover, having filled its edge in a flute on a body of external section. Put external section on the hinge so that the sprung plunger contracted, then raise edge of a cover for the purpose of alignment of pressure. Fix a cover by two bandage tapes (see the subsection "Cover of the External CV JOINT", item 11). Make sure of reliability of fixing of a cover bandages.
